At Carlisle Adventist College we provide a safe and happy environment for your child to learn within a supportive community.

Our enthusiastic, highly professional teaching team focus on nurturing the strengths of our students. From the moment you enrol your 3-year-old at Carlisle Early Learning Centre, through the time they graduate at the end of Year 12, our teachers will work with you as parents or carers to bring continuity between school and home. We are committed to keeping you informed and listening to your concerns.

The foundation of our approach to educating your child, is our secure and nurturing school environment. We create this environment through appreciation for individual needs, respect for the children in our care and support for their values and opinions. Our aim is always to make a positive impact on our students. Sometimes that will be academically. But sometimes that impact may be through social development and or even via emotional support through trauma.

Through Carlisle’s nurturing and individual approach we will help your child to reach their full potential while developing self-esteem and an appreciation for the needs of others.

To ensure a nurturing and caring school environment for your child, Carlisle Adventist College builds its foundations on the following principles:

Care

Carlisle Adventist College offers the following programs to ensure our students receive emotional support when they need it:

  • Pastoral Care program / school chaplains
  • Access to people who can advise your child on a range of issues is always available
  • Access to counselling
  • As we encourage our students in religious studies we offer many opportunities for your child to discuss ideas and questions they may have.

Community

Carlisle Adventist College welcomes the support and involvement of parents within the school.

Through various channels we encourage parents to become part of the school community, further boosting support for your child.

These activities include:

  • Social events (family fun day, movie nights, trivia nights)
  • Parent Teacher nights
  • Committees – parents and friends (P&F) committee
  • Parent involvement in tuck-shop, reading, art and craft, sporting events, etc.

These kind of activities develop the school community as a whole and help extend the relationships that your children form with other children at our school.

Our ‘open door’ policy also adds to our community-building. We believe you should have access to the important professionals who are educating your child. Teachers are readily available at all times to discuss your child’s social, emotional and academic needs.

Safety and Convenience

The safety of your child is paramount at us at Carlisle Adventist College. As an extension of our excellent education program, we provide an early learning program for 3 year olds, benefiting families with younger children.

Our teachers are also on duty from 8am, providing supervision when you need an early drop-off for your child.

For those families who need it, we also offer Outside School Hours Care (OSHC). The program runs from 3.30pm to 5.30pm on school days. For more information on OSHC, please contact the school office.

Another additional convenience, which sets us apart from other schools within the Mackay region is the CAC School Bus. Our College Bus operates a door to door pickup and drop off for students who live in Mackay Southern Suburbs. To utilise this service, please contact our administration staff.

Individual Attention

Our enviable student-teacher ratios allow our teachers to get to know your child as an individual. Our team combines the enthusiasm of youth with dedication and experience to provide a well-rounded and targeted approach to teaching your child.

Because of our school size, each teacher is able to monitor each child and get to know their personality, growth and development needs. They interact with the children in the playground and the teachers have already established good relationships with children who move into their grade in subsequent years.
